November 2014 Lithuanian teacher visit Newcastle and the North East.
We have two teachers from Vilniaus Balsių pagrindinė mokykla visiting the North East this week. They are here to share and learn ideas in education. They particularly want to look at how schools in the North East support digital technologuoes in the classroom and to find out what is best practice when teaching young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities SEND. Part of their visit will include looking at how North East schools have developed their outdoor learning to enhance the way children learn. They will visit Sunderland, Gosforth in Newcastle, Northumberland, and Gateshead. They have also been invited to a Doctorate of Education seminar where they will speak about the education system in Lithuania. While they are here they will also sample the delights of the North East both socially and culturally with visit to the coast and the rich historical heretage that the North East has to offer visitors.
October 2014 Visit to Vilnius
We have been invited to speak at a conference in Vilnius and also lead some workshops about the use of digital technologies in the classroom Mike will be delivering the sessions at
The conference was opened with a flurry of creative sparks including singers
The conference also highlighted the artistic talents of the students and staff. We were treated to a stunning presentation of remote controlled aerial delights
fantastic flights of fantasy choreographed to music
We ended with students form the school showing how street wise they are as they moved to the hip hop rhythm of the breakdancer
The school has been built in an area of the city which os becoming very desirable and is surround by gentle landscapes and forests. We would do well to watch this space as the development of the school continues to move forward creativly
